Membership of the Society
The Peony Society offers several benefits to members for which we charge an annual
membership fee of £15 for an individual, £20 for joint or family and £30 for a Corporate
member. Fees are normally payable from January 1st, but initially, please contact the
membership secretary using the button at the bottom of this page. Fees may be paid by
cheque or standing order, the forms for which may be viewed and printed using the buttons
below. Alternatively, Paypal may be used by selecting the type of subscription required and
then using the yellow ‘Subscribe’ button.
Members receive three newsletters and one journal per year. All are colour printed and
contain articles of interest to Paeoniaphiles. The journal is the Winter issue and is a thicker,
more book-like production. By default, the newsletters are distributed by email and the
journal by post. Only if there is a good reason why a member cannot receive email will
all items be posted. Ths is a cost saving measure adopted by the Society in the face
of ever increasing delivery costs.
Members are most welcome to contribute articles to the newsletter and journal and the
webmaster encourages constructive comments relating to the website.
Members are encouraged to attend the Annual General Meeting and to participate in
events associated with it. Functions are arranged throughout the year; often involving
garden visits or activities relating to propagation. Election to The Committee is open to
all and members are urged to participate.
Several members have much experience in growing and propagating peonies and their
advice is offered to any member who asks. A seed exchange facility is often available and
members may offer their plants for sale on the website.
Corporate members may, if they wish, have a link to their own websites with a description
of their business displayed within this website.
